Had to park along the road just before the gate. Added about 1 mile to the 1.1 mile hike from the upper parking lot. |

Bare-booted until just before the summit. The hard frozen granular snow provided plenty of traction. The open ledge at the top was icy and required light traction. Also used traction on the way down. The small amount of snow made the hike even easier than in the summer. Cold and very windy at the top. |
