| Comments: |
Entire hike mostly nicely packed 2-5" of powder.
Used microspikes all day to finish earlier and
avoid potential bad roads going back to Vt..
Nineteen-Mile Brook was smooth, very hard pack; a few open water areas. Carter Dome Tr. also well packed; just not as hard packed.
Zeta to South Carter was the least packed section; about 1-2" of loose snow on top of pack.
South Carter to North Carter Tr. was a little firmer with slight drifts.
North Carter Tr. and Imp Tr. well packed with increasing open
water with elevation loss.
With colder temps forecast the mostly avoidable open water sections
will become mostly avoidable ice. Trails will be harder but not too bad. |
