||First portion of the Whiteface Mountain Trail was somewhat packed by foot traffic. Some ice lurking underneath, so light traction not a bad idea.|
No recent use from the stonewall to the summit, however. Generally about 2" of powder on top of ice. Large puddles appear to be pretty firmly frozen. Some snow drifts approaching a foot deep in places. Caution needed on the final ascent, as there was a lot of ice lurking underneath the powder.
