| Comments: |
Maybe another inch of powder since my visit at the end of last week. However, it did make a difference, as the depth/texture of the snow is better covering the ice underneath. Drifts on the Jeep Road portion of the Whiteface Mountain Trail are a good 6-8 inches deep.
I wore Microspikes roundtrip, as I wasn't sure if it would be too bony for snowshoes. The very start and the ledges are, but otherwise it'd be good snowshoeing at this juncture; a frozen base with about 2" of powder on top. |
