An excellent day spent playing in the snow! York Pond was broken out to Bunnell Notch junction, then unbroken bliss awaited us for the remainder of the hike up to North Weeks. It started with 6 inches over a firm base, and increased to 12+ in Willard Notch, with higher amounts with increasing elevation. There were some wind buffed drifts as we neared the summit. Found a nice little framed viewpoint looking east near the summit as well. As much as we tried to stay on trail, the corridor is not always evident, but our track will get you there. Back down the way we came. Good to see Jim and Rick in the lot after their hike of Cabot. Thanks Erin for a great day out in the wilds of the Kilkenny! |
