Comments
Comments: Met a local guy who pointed out his family farm from the S. Doublehead ledges--he knows everyone in the area. He says that the lot on private land near the New Path is gone. The land owner got mad when "stupid people couldn't follow instructions" and repeatedly blocked his driveway. He says the only parking is at the turnout on Dundee Road. A short walk up Doublehead Rd leads to the ski trail. The Old Path splits off from this shortly. I used Micro-Spikes the whole hike. The ascent is short and steep up the Old Path with the best views from S. Doublehead. On a cloudless day the views of the Pressies were wonderful. Herd paths lead to other ledges which look into ME and Lakes Region. Views are limited on N. Doublehead, cabin is locked.
