Comments
Comments: Party of two. First mile up Glencliff trail mixture of bare ground, exposed rock, sticky snow and ice patches. Microspikes/Hillsounds good for about a mile. Switched over to Hillsound Pro crampons to summit and south peak with powdery snow and spotty exposed ice underneath. Icy on summit. Descended Carriage Trail, switched over to TSL mountaineering snowshoes; light powdery snow with spotty snowshoe slippage on ice underneath. Broke out Hurricane Trail with snowshoes; tough conditions on the Hurricane trail trying to break, locate trail in areas (sparse, limited, faded trail markings) running water and mud under snow, blowdowns, unlevel and couple miles of ascending terrain. Warm day, windy on summit and beautiful red sunset coming down Hurricane trail.
