Trail is a superhighway! Started in Hillsounds. A couple of icy places above the falls in the usual tricky step up sections but Hillsounds held us. Switched to K-10 crampons along the ridge to the hut but Bobcat stayed in Hillsounds and did fine. A couple of icy sections along the ridge and going down to the hut in places that I felt more secure using the K-10s. Wore goggles and covered up to Lafayette. Started in headlamps and had the ridge and amazing views to ourselves. Good to see Denise and Whitney at the hut. Looks like winter in the mountains! |
