Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The water crossing was very challenging today--so much so that we had to turn around when one member of our party lost their balance on unstable ice. I'm posting this report mainly to alert hikers about the water crossing. This (Sat.) morning, there was softening ice in patchy sections, amid a lot of fast, rushing water. A herd path to the left takes you to a couple of places that are more narrow, but still challenging. We saw two groups make it across, but we were not as lucky. With warming temps during the day, no doubt even more ice softened and became even less stable. Use caution and be prepared in case you do go into the water.
