| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking lot across from Wellington State park was nearly full mid-afternoon but I only saw a couple groups on the trail - ? Parking lot was almost completely ice-filled and dangerous to walk on. Still, lots of 2WD cars in the lot, surprisingly!!! |
| Surface Conditions: |
Ice - Black, Mud - Significant |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
several crossings without snowmobile bridges were rock-hoppable |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Blue Trail (which splits off from the Elwell Trail just north of Sugarloaf) was a nightmare - several HUGE blowdowns and HUGE swaths of trail completely eroded by what looked like old ATV tracks. Green Trail back to Goose Pond also had a LOT of erosion... standing water on the trails was a big issues |

| Comments: |
Trails near the parking lot (primarily Elwell Trail) were EXTREMELY icy!!! Orange Trail wasn't as bad. Once about .5 mi from parking area, ice decreased. Ledges were not slippery. Outstanding views!!! Someone placed a sturdy plank at the edge of Goose Pond to a HUGE rock in the pond - really neat! |
