Comments
Comments: The trail was mostly frozen on the way up. We hit ice when we hit the spruce fir forest and used microspikes the rest of the way. It was a little tricky getting up the last part of Owls Head Ledge but using the trees we were able to pull ourselves up over the icey areas. Great views of the Presidential's today. There was no ice or snow on the very top ledges and we sat and ate our lunch in the sunshine. There were lots of dry areas on the flat area of Martha's Mile. On the way back the sun warmed conditions to slushy and mud. Lots of moose scat near the top but no moose seen. Great views at Mount Martha's too of Crawford Notch, Franconia Ridge and of Wambauk
