| Comments: |
No snow or ice on Sawyer River Road. I wore microspikes on Signal Ridge Trail for the first mile due to a combination of ice and bare ground. One ice flow (nearer Whiteface Brook) forced me up through the woods to get around it. For the final ~3 miles up I wore microspikes, which were fine on the ice and snow-ice. One other large ice flow half way up. The weather was good, about 32 at the summit, very little wind. Saw 14 other hikers. |
