| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of Parking. A Vehicle from VT had his car parked with lights on when we came off the trail. Was going to try and shut the lights off because the locks looked like the car was unlocked. When I went around to the drivers side, I noticed that there was a big dog in the back. Windows were left open.. Felt like this was very irresponsible of the dog owner.

| Comments: |
Valley Way was good, with minor ice, avoidable using exposed rocks and skimming the edge of the treeline. We reached the split for Watson Path, trail was the same as Valley Way ice wise, we continued to bare boot until the summit. Being cautious to avoid stepping on any ice. Ice was present until exposure then basically diminished to trace spots. Coming down Osgood Trail to Madison Hut trail was very sparse ice patches. Upon reaching Valley Way for our decent, we quickly learned we had to use our crampons. Even with crampons we were slipping on the ice. The ice flows roll on the entire length of the Valley Way until you reach the split for the Watson Path again. Consider this to be dangerous! Traction is a must!! I wouldn't be surprised if there was ice along Valley Way until the middle of June. Be Careful!!! |
