Comments
Comments: We took advantage of having two vehicles and started at the north trailhead for Imp Tr to mix it up. The ice started about 1/4 below Imp Face and we put on light traction. After the ledges we too them off for a short distance then put them on and kept them on over all three Carters and took them off at the summit of Mt Hight. The side hill up to Carter Dome had some significant ice bulges. We both postholed within the last 1/4 to Carter Dome but only once when we stepped off the trail. Descending from Hight we put on crampons until below Zeta Pass and below the reported large ice bulges on Carter Dome Tr. Then the microspikes were on and off for 1/4 mi and off for good near the lower third of the switchbacks. Great weather and nice to hike with Matt again.
