Comments
Comments: The ice the last quarter of a mile up to North Tripyramid was very difficult to get up so I went off trail. It should be softening up and melting slowly with the warmer temps but if it gets cold again it'll still be quite tough to to get up and tougher to get down for the time being. Between North-Middle-South wasn't nearly as bad, a few places where I had to use caution, once I veered off trail for safety, but I was fine in light traction. Kate Sleeper Trail is in great shape, mix of snow and ice but the grades are nice so light traction was perfect. Rollins Trail was fine with microspikes, had to bypass a couple of ice flows on the way to Passaconway but walked over them on the way back as rising temps softened ice dramatically. Dicey's Mill Trail up to the summit cone was fine with spikes, ice is melting fast over there so there were enough rocks to make things fine using caution. Great day to spend in the Sandwich Range, the Sleeper Ridge is a beautiful area :)
