What started out as an overcast, windy and cold day turned out to be great ending with sun and dry trails near the bottom. There is muddy spots along the trail all the way up mostly after the ledges until the true summit. There is no ice and the ledges weren't wet. Took a trip the the hexacuba shelter after reading KenM's report. Wicked neat with some funny graffiti in the penta-privy. Overall the trail is up and down and feels long but so many neat stops along the way. Well worth the extra mileage and some nice fishing spots down by where parking is. Clouds disappated during the day and warmed up, although it was pretty windy on the summit. Roughly 7ish miles done in 6 hours. |
