The road is still closed for the winter so plan on hiking an additional 2 miles to the trailhead, one way...that means two miles on the way back to your car as well. |

At any higher water the one major stream crossing could be very difficult/wet/impassable. |

The first half of the hike is cruisy. About 1/3 of the way up to the summit traction becomes necessary. That's not to say that I didn't see people hiking without but that just seems dangerous; didn't see them coming down. Once you get onto the ridge no need for spikes until the final push to the summit. Hiking up around 130pm allowed for the snow/ice to warm up but by 4pm things were getting slick. |
