We made a Park to Park loop hike beginning at Winslow State Park (gate is open, toll house is not). The trail was snowy and wet all the way up, giving way to some crusty, mostly avoidable ice just before the treeline. Very few patches of ice-covered rocks. Microspikes would be helpful. We planned on hiking Lincoln Trail back up from Rollins State Park but opted against (we did not have micros) and just retraced our steps on Rollins Trail. Barlow Trail had some pretty muddy spots from about the halfway point down to the trailhead, most of which was avoidable. Lots of wet leaves added to the slip-factor. |
