Started trail early in the AM when the temps were in the 30's - trail was quiet and snow/ice were more solid. By the time I descended the mountain the temps had raised to about 60 and snow/ice was much slushier and slicker and more mud on the trail. Made the descent a bit more difficult, but still manageable if you're careful with your footing. I decided not to use microspikes b/c snow/ice was consistent enough. I managed well enough. Beautiful day out on the trail and amazing views from the summit! |
