Comments
Comments: Starting at a leisurely 1pm, we set off for a meandering loop over Pack Monadnock with a side trip to Spruce Knoll, which I had not yet visited. WT was wet and muddy with slick rocks. Once at the summit, it's fairly dry. The spur to Spruce Knoll was fairly dry and is a very nice short side trip. A great spot with good views east, and a quiet alternative if the summit is crowded. We hung out for a while there, had lunch, and got hailed on briefly! Back at the summit I climbed the fire tower and got a few photos. We then descended MDT back to the parking lot. There were several people out, but with the auto road open, most had driven up.

Rain held off for the most part, and the sun appeared as we got to the summit. Fairly windy, but not really too cold. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. :)
