Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Huge parking lot. Plenty of spots this time of year. Be there early over the summer as this parking lot is used mostly for tourists going to Diana's baths and will overflow with cars daily until September.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossed Lucy brook twice. Once on the red ridge trail and once on the moat mountain trail. Both crossings took a little skill to keep our feet dry. Had to rock hop carefully across. If the water was a few inches higher we would have had to walk across in bare feet. Certainly passable however you do it. Two small, easy crossings just before/after Lucy brook and one more easy crossing at moat brook just before the steep climb up to red ridge.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: At the beginning of the hike, just after Diana's baths, we reached an unexpected trail junction not mentioned by any trail descriptions I read. Luckily someone made a temporary obstacle suggesting to take the trail to the left. I have no idea where the other trail led to. It also took a little searching to find the trail at the other side of moat brook just before climbing up to red ridge. The trail is slightly downstream from where you cross and not upstream. Some of the yellow blazes on the rocky sections of the trail are faded and not easily seen. The trail is easy enough to find however. There were several blowdowns that were easy to climb over.
Dog-Related Notes

Bugs
Bugs: No bugs until the very end of the hike. Black flies started to come out around 630.

Comments
Comments: This hike was such a nice surprise. I was not expecting such incredible views in all directions. From the climb up red ridge to the summit of north moat the view just gets more stunning as you go.
