Comments
Comments: An early morning loop over Jackson and Webster after a somewhat spontaneous camping overnight in Crawford Notch.

Mud is the word of the day for the lower WJT. Lots of it along this stretch. Above the branch split, minor ice, then more steady ice monorail above the log steps section. A couple significant ice floes remain. The scrambles are dry as are the summit ledges.

The WCT along the ridge between the peaks was mostly monorail and ice with areas of bare ground. I hadn't been on this section of the trail before, there are several minor steep scrambles along the way to keep it interesting.

The Webster Branch of the WJT is mostly ice for about 3/4 of the way down, including a couple of significant ice floes.

It was an on and off with the spikes kind of day. Bring them for now, they are needed.
