| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
West Branch Clear Stream Road was in decent condition with one sketchy hole due to to a culvert failure that was sort of filled with some logs but I drove right over it. All wheel drive rig probably a good idea. Parked car at intersectin of Railroad Spur Road. |

We walked up Railroad Spur Road a few hundred feet before jumping the ditch and heading straight up to Kelsey's summit. Hobble bush filled old logging roads crisscrossed the woods. We passed some boundary flagging perhaps leftover from the logging. Ground was wet and as we gained elevations there was ice flows on rock faces. When we could see the wind turbine's blades high above the terrain got steep and cliffs with ice were dominent. We wiggled our way up and popped out on the industrial wind turbine site. The high point was at the top of the stairway where we enjoyed a grand mountain panarama! Mt Wash's still has some snow we could see! For the descent we went East and tried to go around some of the ice and cliffs and that worked out ok but after some nice open woods we got into some thick blowdown stuff that was better but still not nice. We ended up slightly east of the line we came up and it was a bit dryer. Thanks B2k for visiting this peak with me. Good morning warm up for more to come in the North Country |
