| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The Bully Brook crossing a mile or south (west) of VT-140 was not well marked for NoBos. A double marking at the south side of the brook would have been helpful. The bark fell off from the marking on the north side. Leaves and a large blowdown obscured the trail on the north side.
The markings were fine for SoBos. |

| Bugs: |
Saturday was warm and the black flies were out. Glad we had head nets. After the temp dropped into the 40s Saturday night and all day Sunday, they were gone. |

| Comments: |
We did the 26.9 AT miles from Mad Tom Notch Rd near Peru VT to VT-103 near Rutland. Nothing over 3000'. Largely dry trail except for maybe a mile of hop-able mud. We stayed at Little Rock Pond Shelter, which had a great (Tobiason) design. Got a dip in the pond. Beautiful spot. We passed 30 high schoolers heading to Peru Peak shelter, which was in a great spot. We met 10 adolescents headed to Greenwall shelter. Outside of those 2 parties, the trail was empty. This segment finished the southernmost 87 miles of the VT AT/LT for Big Bob and me. |
