Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All water crossings are minimal today... All majors can be crossed by foot or bridge. We need water!
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Nothing of note here... A few easy step overs that are old.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: This is TOUGH for dogs. Only really experienced trail dogs should do this trail system. Bring Water as the upper section of Osgood has none and you are above tree line for a long time. If it's hot out take shade breaks and mind your dogs paws on the rocks above tree line. When in doubt turn back.
Bugs
Bugs: Yup... Drove me nuts.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A large Knife and a stuff sack at the suspension bridge.

Comments
Comments: This is the AT to get to Madison... It's not just your average walk in the woods. It'll make you work for it. Really steep Osgood Section before tree line and then you get a good amount of time to hike over to Madison... Once you get over the false summits that is. This is a very long day and I do not recommend this way to just any one starting out. You need some skill and some stamina to do this one.
