Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Curious how only the reroute has yellow blazes, severe lack of blazes on the Nancy Pond Trail. Nice that there are small rock cairns at the brook crossings because it helped! Notchland Inn Link has blue blazes and has orange ribbons on both sides at the brook crossing.

Comments
Comments: Since no one in their right mind would accompany me I went solo... The paths at the Notchland Inn are well cared for and signed and blazed--enjoy their approach much more than the first mile of the Nancy Pond Trail. Nancy Pond Trail was clear and slippery. Nancy Cascades were loud and lovely. I started my whack well before the pond--just before the crossing where the high one log bridge crosses a stream. The first five minutes of the whack were the worst thick with many blow downs and wet but it improved greatly the higher up I crawled. Woods were still wet in the morning and I got soaked in that first five minutes. Got lucky with my bearing and ended up walking past the recognized high point and then thinking it looks high over there and I am glad I went and checked it out. I pretty much descended the same way I had come up. Enjoyed the views from Nancy Pond Trail and the sunshine on the descent. (Notchland Inn was a wonderful place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary-big rooms, yummy food and nice people).
