This is the "backdoor" to Eastman, starting on the southern end of the Slippery Brook Tr. it follows grass-covered logging roads. At 2+ mi. the trail leaves the diverging roads (watch for hard to see arrows) and slowly ascends to jct. w/ Eastman Mtn. Tr. Much of this trail is overgrown, you have to wade through chest-high bushes. Eastman Mtn. Tr. is well maintained and well travelled. So on a day when the major t/h lots were almost full at 8:00 AM I had this trail and peak (360 view) to myself. On the return saw a moose 1/2 hr from parking lot. |
