| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
holy moly parking craziness! arrived at the lodge at 7:45 and there were already 20 cars parked in line, most i'm guessing were overnight guests. when i returned at 3:30 there had to be 100 cars lining the road. as i was driving out, i wondered if they would be all the way to the end. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Al Merrill and the Ridge Tr were in great shape...nice easy way to get up to Moosilauke summit. Trail work re-route in progress on lower part of Ridge Tr near the stream. after speaking with the two fine gents doing the work, i test drove the re-route. amazing, HARD work these guys are doing. Hurricane tr to junc. w/ Carriage rd, fast and flat. there is a spruce blow down on the Carriage tr that is bypassed and not too far after that a large hardwood over the trail that you have to duck under. all trails were very dry. |

| Comments: |
a full day of redlining a figure 8 pattern of sorts on the moosilauke trails. the moose summit was never my intention on this trip and i was fine with that. looking over from South peak in the afternoon, i could see a conga line of hikers. lots of people out on the trails today. saw my first bare butt ever while hiking. i guess it's one thing if you're not modest, but she didn't pick the best spot to drop her drawers. |
