One leaning birch on Madison Gulf Tr, between Auto Rd and Lowe's Bald Spot.
Nelson Crag trail above the auto road could use some brushing in the little krumholtz that is there. All the trails in good shape otherwise |

Fun day doing an unusual loop from Pinkham. I would highly recommend NOT doing this loop, unless you can time it to follow the road while the Auto Road is closed. The road walk on the Auto Rd is sketchy: There is no shoulder, and the cars already feel hemmed in on this stretch of road. Otherwise a great day above tree line. |
