| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
From Rte 3 north after 2nd CT Lake, went right on East Inlet Road and after bridge turned left on to Scott Bog Road and then took the right turn about 1.9 miles in and drove another couplt miles to a obvious turn around area just before a brook crossing where the stone covered culvert looks like a bit of a challenge. Parked our car in the grassy area and began our whack at the culvert. |

Started our whack on the right side of the bank of the stream at the culvert, I cut more right to be further away from the bank of the brook and viola found an old road that we were able to zoom up for at least ten minutes before it turned away from our bearing. Nice woods and lots of well worn moose herd paths to follow straight up to the summit. I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the register and saw that friends had been there earlier in the day (Bond and Fregeolle). From the summit we went to the swath to check out the vista. Nice clear views and mountains, interesting to see the swath cut far away. On the return reversed compass. We hit the road and followed it right down to about 50 feet east of the culvert, hard to see but it is there and makes for an easy entry/exit for the whack. Good quick whack, thanks Bryan for following me up this peak, happy you had a sunny day this time. |
