Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: If you want to park in the lots at Pinkham get there early. We parked at 7:30am in one of the few remaining spots.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: 3 water crossings on Chandler Brk, not too troublesome. the first one was the trickiest for me, since i always get nervous at water crossings. there is a log across, the first crossing, but it's tricky getting to it. my hiking buddy had no trouble whatsoever, but he's part mountain goat.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: All were in good shape. Chandler Brook had a couple of trees across the trail, but easily ducked under and for a trail less traveled, it had a pretty good footbed. i was pleasantly surprised. Wamsutta in good shape too. On the descent, Tucks had some wet rocks.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: i think a skilled hiking dog would be fine on any of these trails. (didn't see any though). Chandler Brk trail has some boulders to navigate around in the upper .3mi, but not too tough. only trail that didn't have water was Wamsutta.
Bugs
Bugs: some annoying flying gnats(?), but nothing biting.
Lost and Found

Comments
Comments: a splendid day for being out on the trails in the GGW! my intrepid partner BSK, who know i might turn into a redliner yet, suggested Washington and I picked the route. Gorgeous views all day...it's been awhile since i've been in the presies and wow! Chandler Brook trail was my favorite of the day...beautiful along the entire length. Waterfalls, inviting pools, and great views of Adams. at the junction of GG and Wamsutta, saw a friendly familiar face...what a nice surprise to see Damselfly. we started at 8 am and after 10 redlining miles we made it to the summit at 4:30...plenty of time for BSK to get that bowl of chili he mentioned several times throughout the day. not impressed with the conditions of the visitor center...filthy bathroom with clogged toilets.. no TP. no soap. and no clean tables. utterly disgusting. refilled bladders and left the summit a little after 5pm and descended Tucks. didn't make it out before dark, but that was ok. we had headlamps. other hikers did not have lighting; fortunately the weather was warm and windless under clear skies for what would be an undoubtedly long hike out.
