from rt. 3 in pittsburg we drove day rd and perry stream road for about 7.8 miles taking a right onto a road with an open gate labelled 126. this road got a bit rough and washed out in sections, but in a higher clearance suv we drive to its height of land on a shoulder west west of the peak (just under 2700 ft). |

| Comments: |
we headed up directly towards the summit. woods varied, but were much better than a prior trip that utilized the mountains nasty south ridge. some tight spruce and wet/muddy areas, but mostly ok up to the ridge just north of the peak. some blowdown from there to the recognized highpoint. followed roughly the same route down. |
