Comments
Comments: the lower slopes of these mountains were awful with old slash ,tall grass, golden rod and giant berry bushes. to top it off, early on everything was wet. the woods were quite good mostly except for minor scrappiness higher up on southeast horn brook. hellgate mt. was a neat challenge. quite steep with a wide spruce band higher up and a beautifully carpeted with moss summit area. on return I missed a lot of the spruce but had to go thru all that junk again. tough hike with some very good parts and both jars are still in place. nobody else has been there this year.
