After having your butt kicked by Jackson/Webster the day before, there's nothing like a little confidence restorer. We tried this one Sept 2001 (and I remember seeing some one with a flag on one of the summits across the way) and at the time found it challenging. I kept needing to rest and we ended up not finishing because there was a brush fire on top. So after years of doing lots of other stuff, it did not seem to be so bad this time, even if I am 15 years older. This is a great hike if you don't have all day, but want some climbing, nice ledges, great views. The trail was easy to follow and should be even prettier when all those hardwoods start to change color in the near future. |
