Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Not an issue -- most stream crossings are bone dry.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails are generally in pretty good shape. Some erosion and undermining of rock work on Davis Path steeps heading north to Crawford Path spur trail. Mt. Parker Trail heading south toward Mt. Resolution ledges is a bit brushy in some spots (even by Wilderness standards).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Not an issue whatsoever until Mt. Crawford, where there were quite a few (biting) black flies. Guess we're not quite done with some of these yet for the season.

Comments
Comments: Very few people on the trails today -- saw a few headed for Mt. Crawford, and then a couple headed for Stairs Mountain, having come in from Rocky Branch. Saw no one on any of the summits.

We only visited the small high point/summit of Mt. Resolution near the Mt. Parker Trail (accessibly by a short herd path/bushwhack), not the other, larger one to the northeast.

The almost-two miles of Davis Path between Mt. Crawford and the Stairs Col Trail is some of the nicest hiking in the Whites: unobstructed, gently graded footbed with some ledge walking.
