Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The FWT had some combo rock hop and branches walk crossings. I had preposition trouble on the first by just jumping across, finding an unstable rock and thus creating Falling Into Waters Trail. My boots were soaked but high tech socks saved the hike, although I should have had a second set. Having poles would help on some of these. OBP had none and should be the choice for going up if one doesn't like stream crossings.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in pretty good shape so soon after the rains. One blowdown on OBP. Ice up on the ridge in places.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one dog balking at one of the crossings but Pepper did them all easily and others must have as well. We passed a fair number on the way up, but only a few met on the way down. There was one small poodle near the hut going up OBP. No water problems, trails pretty good on paws, and temps nice so the exposed ridge with its views was great for the mighty tough little dog.
Bugs
Bugs: None

Comments
Comments: An abundance of beautiful weather, views, waterfalls and women on the trail today. We passed a fair number of people and dogs on the way up, but the ridge was pretty much ours until Lafayette. From there on down there was a steady stream of hikers, most going up, many still starting at midday in sneaks and cotton Ts. The huts must have been filled and may be again. Foliage was past peak but still nice. I am so glad I cut yesterday's hike off to save these peaks for today. What a great day to be on a great trail.
