Comments
Comments: beautiful day and a spectacular pond(Stratford bog pond). just tremendous scenery! walking past the pond I could see my objective. took a snowmobile road at roads end for about a half mile and went into the woods heading north. easy going good woods for a long while ,then things steepened a lot and eventually ran into scrappiness and some ledges. after that it was better to the high point of Stratford notch mt. I then went to the col going around thick spruce into nicer woods and up to the summit of east savage where there was again mossy ledges and some scrappiness. the summit area is much better and the jar is easy to find. nobody else has been up there this year. and that does it, this marks the completion of the nh300 highest!!! what an adventure, now for some recovery. no more scratches or gashes or bruises for a while. not only was this quite interesting, but it was a lot of fun. one thing I would advise though is to not go alone. it does get lonely out there and 2 0r more heads are better than one.
