Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Pittsburg-from Rte 3, left on Day Road and then all the way to the end of Perry Stream Road. Road is fair to good conditions, just a couple pot holes and bumpy culverts required going slow during the last 3 or 4 miles (about an 11 mile drive from Rte 3). The end portion of the road doesn't see much use and there is a grass strip up the middle of the dirt road.

Comments
Comments: We met in Concord at the bus station at 5:30am and drove north--we were in the woods by 9:10am. Cloudy and wet, happy for no rain but we were disappointed the sun didn't come out. We whacked towards the peak but avoided anything thick and favoring turning uphill, we hit the boundary swath just above the col just to the east of the Prospect Hill--crazy hunting blinds and tree stands and plenty of new salt lick blocks on the Canadian side. We climbed the short ways west up the swath to the HOA and hunted around for the recognized high point and found it in short time. Descent woods and we were quite pleased with our route to the hill. We followed the wet swath and we decided we were not fond of hiking the boundary swath, it is too slippery, steep and wet. We got up swath near top of Prospect Hill and were aghast at the ledgy dropoff we had to scramble down through wet thick ferns! We questioned why we did it this way instead of doing two up and back trips to these peaks from the end of Perry Stream Road. Views from the swath were limited due to being stuck in a cloud. Wacked south from swath to Perry Pond, it was ok because soggy areas were dry but it didn't matter because we were soaked from the wet ferns and high grass on the swath. Interesting woods and rock outcroppings along the way. From the last col up to the top of Perry Pond we followed wonderful herd paths all the way and the clouds were lifting. Descending down to our car through descent woods and hitting lower old skid roads/moose paths was swell--we did catch a nice view of the swath from an open area. Good adventure, would have been nice to have a sunny day but you can't have everything all the time.
