 | Comments: |
Out and back provides a high payoff for moderate effort. The route climbs steeply up to the ridge and finishes with a small scramble below Owl's Head, but the footing is excellent throughout. Both peaks offer outstanding views of the Presidentials and Crawford Notch, and an obvious herd trail from Martha's summit leads to a bluff with similar views of the Twinway and Franconia Notch.
If you are looking for color, get it now. Up top the trees are bare, and down low they are raining leaves. |
