We followed Rocky Branch Trail and headed west on Stairs Col Trail to about 2000 feet and started our bushwhack in nice open woods up the ridge, as we hit some smaller boulders we climbed over & through them, started hitting some ledge area we skirted left to avoid them got back on the ridge, things got a little scrappy with blow downs here and there but not to bad from this point up. We then hit some more ledge that we skirted to the right to avoid, back to the ridge and more skirting to the left to avoid ledge again. Once on the summit we found the canister after looking for a few. It was very rainy & wet day with upwards of 6 inches of snow on the ground. Did I say it was a rainy & wet. Anyway it was better than sitting on the couch. With a few inches of snow on the ground it was easy enough to follow our foot steps back to the car. |
