Comments: Mt. Cube & North Peak

Warm afternoon was a real delight. A thick haze limited views to points close by from both summits, but it was still quite lovely. The Clough Quartzite ledges were a little damp making them slippery in spots.

Noted some recent logging adjacent to the trail that had been done since my last visit back in May. A strange shape caught my eye looking through one of the first logged out areas that I investigated on my return trip. Turns out it was a decrepit old cabin that I presume was an old AT shelter in the early 1900s. It's marked on the map at the trailhead kiosk and was in the right general location to match up. An old stove was still in place with pots and pans strewn about, as well as two bunks. Also some old bottles sealed with mystery liquid still inside. Kinda cool!
