| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of room with spillover alongside the roadway. The Jefferson Notch Road in decent condition from Base Road. It is narrow and curvy so watch for oncoming traffic. Check the WMNF web site to verify it is still open. |

|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail in good condition. There are two trees crossing above the trail at about five feet and some leaners all clustered near the pothole ledge outlook (near junction with The Link trail). These do not impede passage at this time. They may pose problems with a snow pack but I doubt the Caps Ridge Trail is used much in the winter since the trailhead is far removed from a plowed road and the ledges may be difficult. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
No water on trail, some steep ledge sections, and abrasive rock surfaces may be a challenge for some dogs. |
|
| Bugs: |
Actually saw some flying insects in the PM warmth but they were not bothersome. |
