I walked some snowmobile trails from the gate for a very short distance and began to bushwhack up to Winslow's ledge. The woods were open, but soaked with new west snow. I hit the ridge and followed it to the top, checking several bumps. I noted several viewpoints, but no views today. I followed the ridge east towards sugar hill, finding mainly open woods. The first bump had a nice opening. Once off of that bump, I headed for the highpoint, using a road to make progress and then bushwhacking. The highpoint is recognized. I chose to descend towards Dorchester road, without crossing the ridge. Very early in the decent I hit an old road. I took this down to a Christmas tree farm and followed a road out to Dorchester road. I noted Keep out signs at the start of the road I took down. I had to walk about a mile back to the car.
I had to brush the car off when I got back due to the new snow. |
