We followed Amy’s TR for the most part with a little bit of a change noted below.
Left the trailhead / parking area and went straight under 93 & over the bridge for Hardvard Brook. Followed the snowmobile trail toward Bog Pond, forked left towards the spur to the left marked “To Powerlinesâ€. Once at the powerline we crossed over onto more of an old hiking trail that some came to an end at the cal between Mt Wolf & Wolf Cub. We then started our bushwhack east up the ridge threw some thick stuff but not too bad.
Once hitting the summit we set off a NE direction down the ridge to about 2500 ft in not to bad woods, from this point on we were in nice open woods and then set off on a SE direction, skirted some ledge areas, crossed the powerlines at about 1900 ft, still heading SE towards some swampy areas and between some bumps left & right back down to about 1400 ft and a 1.3 mile trail walk back to the car. We clocked it by GPS at 11.8 miles for the day.
Big thanks to Amy for her trip report pointing us towards this approach!
