A quick afternoon hike up Whiteface. No issues on the way up. Summit was chilly and windy, but we hung out for a bit. Nice views out to the snow-capped Whites. Minor patches of ice on the ledges to be aware of. Traction not needed at this point.
On the way down, we encountered a group of Jeeps driving up the ridge toward the summit. One of them had rolled over, which we could hear happen from the summit. It had been righted by the time we had reached them, but it looked to still be stuck good. Not sure what the official deal is with ATVs / Jeeps on this section of the trail, but I know it happens. This particular group had torn up the trail pretty good, which was sad to see. :( |
