The plow had left a pile of snow at the dip, and I have yet to put a shovel in my car, so I drove back down to Jefferson and parked just east of the store in the designated lot. This adds about 0.8 miles round trip but it's okay; I like to walk. ;p One other hiker today had a truck and drove thru the snow pile to park in the upper, summer lot. |

Beautiful winter wonderland on Waumbek! Put on snowshoes around 3600' as there was enough snow to warrant their use. Some drifting on the ridge. As of midday there is a beautiful snowshoe track between the peaks. :) Met one other hiker, and he wore snowshoes, too. Yay. |
