| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
There was a pile of snow that had been plowed into a small snowbank just before reaching the summer lot. We headed back down to Rte 2, due to a few cars that had already parked by the snow pile. Upon our return, we notice someone had driven over the small snowbank and we spoke with another hiker that had shoveled so she could drive into the lot. Two cars in the lot when we started. |

It's a SIDEWALK! I barebooted the entire hike, some may want spikes. There were a few icy sections within the first mile and a half, where the water usually pools. The trail is in great condition, minus some rocks poking thru. Between Starr King and the summit of Waumbek it's a winter wonderland, just stunning. A cloud rested over big George but there were still nice views. No wind, and a few orbiting gray jays looking for a handout. Nice time with E.S. |
