Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: There are three water crossings on the York Pond Trail coming up from the trailhead. The first is a dam of sorts. There was a plank across the spillways but it looked like it had been put back in place after being removed for the winter Long story short I don't know if spillway will be passable. The second crossing is a non-issue and the third is doable with a little thought.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: York Pond and Bunnell Notch trails are non-issues. The Kilkenny Ridge Trail between York Pond and Bunnell Notch trails has several blowdowns across the trail. Most can be ducked under but two of them will require some kneeling\hands and knees to get under them. With some more snow they will soon be step overs...
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Depends how they handle water crossings and powdery snow.

Comments
Comments: The above comments handle most of the high points. The spillway crossing beyond the Bunnell Notch\York Pond trail split (on the York Pond Trail) has something going on with it. There was obvious signs of the plank that allows passage along the top of the spillways being removed and then put back in place. I don't know if it normally remains in place throughout the winter. Crossing is possible further upstream from the spillway but it will require a time consuming bushwhack along the stream.

The KRT between York Pond and Bunnell Notch is in pretty good shape aside from two blowdowns referenced above. We wore snowshoes the entire time crossing the KRT so it is broken out. Snow depth was mostly 6-8" of powdery snow with a few spots being knee deep.
