Recommended Equipment: Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: 2 large crossings weren't frozen. Go downstream about 50 feet for the first and upstream about 30 feet for the second one higher up. Both have spots that are one-rock hoppable
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No blowdowns etc and well marked. The trail itself must have been rain that froze on top of snow. Crunchy the whole day

Comments
Comments: Looks like you can park at the front of the train station but I parked to the right in the lot. Would recommend crampons over snowshoes. Ice below the snow in spots and the snow was solid and crusty anyway. Tried both and crampons were a lot easier to maneuver. Avalon Trail is well broken and looked like A-Z toward Mt Tom was also broken but only saw a single set of prints going from Avalon to Field.
