Beautiful day before the storm. All three trails had clearly been well-traveled recently, with the snow well-packed down and mixed with some ice but nothing traction can't handle. No snowshoes needed. In and out of the clouds on the ridge, with winds picking up to about 50mph atop Lafayette. All in all, we lucked into a great-weather day with ideal conditions for this hike. |
